ReShape Background

As our world becomes more of a VUCA environment (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity), Christ-followers and churches are looking for God’s calling within the volatility. Though unsettling and disruptive, we recognize that God works good in and through every life experience. Many churches and their leaders are hearing the call to transformation inherent in life disruption events. With a growth mindset and forward leaning spiritual posture, churches turn volatile events into exceptional transformation opportunities. Like Holy Spirit winds blowing on dormant coals, churches are enlivened by this quickly changing ministry environment, reshaping into greater expressions of the body of Christ.

Yet this kind of robust transformation doesn’t happen by accident. There are too many dynamics at play to leave our spiritual growth to chance. Instead we need an intentional, proactive process to guide us toward integrating our innovation and adaptation. This is the purpose of ReShape.

How Can I Lead My Church
in the ReShape Process?

Mark Tidsworth describes the process for leading churches through the ReShape process, describing the eight key moves of the ReShape Process.

How Your Church Can ReShape

 1. Self-Guided Transforming Church Initiative

Some churches may prefer to move through this initiative on their own. All the resources they need can be purchased from the Pinnacle website. This approach does not include live webinars nor coaching. When your church has very skilled leaders with capacity and commitment for this Initiative, then this approach may meet your needs. You can arrange with a Pinnacle Coach to do an orientation for your Coordination Team.

Included in the Self-Guided ReShape Transforming Church Initiative:

  • The ReShape Coordination Team Leader Guide

  • The ReShape Small Group Leader Guide

  • 8 ReShape Training Videos for Small Groups

  • A Bonus Video for Your ReShape Launch Event

  • Branding Assets for Promoting Within Your Church

2. Thriving Congregations Initiative, RESHAPING CHURCH

Pinnacle is partnering with Central Seminary in Kansas City in their Thriving Congregations Initiative funded by The Lilly Endowment. We are grateful for this partnership which is funded for five years. Most of the churches accepted into this Initiative are connected with Central Seminary in some way. Churches are encouraged to contact Central Seminary with interest, Rev. Jessica Williams in particular.

3. Denominational Initiative

What’s the role of denominations during volatile life events? Well, they serve in many fine ways, one of which is to resource their churches. When your denomination wants to explore gathering churches into a Community of Practice, pursuing this ReShaping transformation opportunity, we can collaborate. We bring everything needed, along with the option of training ReShape coaches from among your constituents to serve in your Intiative. This is an excellent way to use the natural connections and synergy of churches in the same denomination toward transformation. Please contact us to explore.
